Setting a New Standard for Volunteer Training & Support

Raising the Bar at the Heart of Cleveland Heart & Stroke Ball

At Palmer Event Solutions, we believe that empowered volunteers are essential to powerful events – and the American Heart Association’s 2025 Heart of Cleveland Heart Ball proved just that.

As one of Northeast Ohio’s premier philanthropic evenings, the Heart & Stroke Ball brings together community leaders, medical professionals, and advocates to raise critical funds for heart and stroke health. With hundreds of attendees, detailed logistics, and a packed program, the event required a dedicated and confident volunteer team to keep things moving behind the scenes.

That’s where our Volunteer Training & Support Solution came in.

After expertly handling volunteer recruitment, the American Heart Association activated our team’s support framework and training expertise – designed to ensure volunteers feel prepared, purposeful, and appreciated.

Our work included:

  • Collaborating with the American Heart Association’s staff lead during volunteer recruitment

  • Creating a detailed Volunteer & Staffing Plan, personalized to the event

  • Drafting all volunteer communications, from training invites to event-day reminders

  • Facilitating a virtual training session to walk through roles, layout, and key program moments

  • Supporting onboarding and troubleshooting on event day

  • Capturing post-event volunteer feedback to help shape future engagement

  • Showing gratitude every step along the way

The result? A team of volunteers who showed up ready, confident, and energized – and a non-profit staff who could focus on mission delivery knowing the details were handled.

This add-on service is part of our commitment to making events smoother for our clients and more rewarding for those who give their time to support them. For the Cleveland Heart & Stroke Ball, it meant less stress for the American Heart Association’s team and more meaningful engagement with their volunteers – ultimately contributing to a successful, mission-forward event.

Ready to take your volunteer team to the next level? Our Volunteer Training & Support Solution is designed to complement the great work you’re already doing. Talk to your Project Lead to explore how this added support can elevate your next event.
